It is said that this temple was opened in the Yoro Era (717 - 723). It is said that it had 38 buildings, such as Matsuji and Matsubo. Among Rokugo Manzan temples, it is a temple that emphasized as a temple where Ninmon died. The current Sentoji Temple was moved to the foot of the mountain in the form of Sentoji Temple, Nishinobo, and Shimobo.
